Who are we?
Mudgin-gal Aboriginal corporation
Mudgin-Gal Women’s Service is an Aboriginal organisation in Redfern run by and for Aboriginal women. We recognise the impacts of colonisation and dispossession, and work in culturally safe and trauma-informed ways. Our work strengthens Aboriginal women’s connection to culture and community, fosters healing and supports self-determination. DFV services are at the heart of our services. We offer a drop-in service for women from around Australia (Redfern is a transient area); a specialist DFV worker (90% of our women have experienced DFV); Support for mothers including a weekly play group, family support program and program for expectant mothers at risk of having their baby removed at birth; and Yarning circles and community activities for women.
