Who are we?
Southern Women's Group Incorporated
Southern Women's Group Inc. (SWG) is a feminist, charitable organisation committed to the empowerment of women, particularly those who are marginalised and living in poverty. SWG's vision is ‘all women are safe, respected, empowered, and supported to flourish’ and our purpose is ‘to provide quality services, support and advocacy that empower women on the South Coast to live free from violence and discrimination, and to achieve their personal goals’. Legal Aid NSW funds SWG to operate the South Coast Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Scheme (SCWDVCAS), which has expanded over time to provide services in 3 LGA’s, enabling women experiencing domestic violence to use the justice system to protect their families from further violence.
What are we doing?

Domestic and Family Violence Community Engagement Program (DFVCEP)

The DFVCEP is a community outreach program of the South Coast WDVCAS service. Currently the DFV Community Engagement Worker (DFVCEW) is based within a primary school (600 students) which reports the highest rate of children living with DFV in the Eurobodalla region. The DFVCEP will extend service delivery to other Primary and High School student well-being units in the SCWDVCAS catchment area, and to community hubs, housing/ emergency accommodation support services, Aboriginal medical services, other clinical health settings, and child and family support services.
