YWCA Australia

Who are we?
YWCA Australia
YWCA Australia (YWCA) is a proud, feminist not-for-profit organisation, working towards a future where gender equality is a reality, and women feel safe and secure at home, and in their communities. We take an intersectional approach to ensuring the needs and strengths of the multi-dimensional women and gender diverse people we work with are recognised, while providing critical frontline services including crisis support, domestic and family violence prevention and early intervention, housing and homelessness programs. We also undertake advocacy and deliver programs that strive to develop the leadership of young women, harnessing their lived expertise and collective power to make gender equality a reality in Australia.
What are we doing?

Wingecarribee Domestic and Family Violence Service (DFVS)

The Wingecarribee Domestic and Family Violence Service (DFVS) is a flexible program that is tailored to meet individual needs. Our clients are mostly single working mothers and carers with dependants aged 18 years and under, impacted by domestic and family violence (DFV). The service provides intake, assessment and case planning to assess the strengths and needs of each client through risk assessment, safety planning and an individual mix of services, aimed at increasing safety, supports and self-efficacy, and reducing risks of homelessness or violence.
